Curbing the comfort eating and lose weight naturally.
Comfort eating has been the downfall of many dieters over the years and
unless you can understand the reasons behind your eating habits it may
wreck your diet too. |

Comfort eating is the desire to eat for reasons that have nothing to do
with hunger.
In an ideal world we would only eat when we were hungry and then only
eat till we were full. Unfortunately this isn’t an ideal world and we
often eat more than we should of inappropriate foods at inappropriate
times.
If comfort eating is a problem for you it will be hard for you to lose
weight unless you understand the reasons for your comfort eating and do
something about them. If you can do this you will be able to lose weight
naturally and easily.
There are many different reasons why people comfort eat and each person
has a different reason or combination of reasons why they comfort eat.
One of the main reasons for comfort eating is boredom. It is easy to sit
in front of the television at night mindlessly snacking on biscuits or
crisps.
If this is a problem for you need to stimulate your mind more by getting
a new hobby or going for a walk, anything except mindlessly eating.
Another reason often cited for comfort eating is loneliness. If you are
on your own after work or during the day it is easy to reach for the cookie
jar as a way of cheering yourself up.
To combat this try and make new friends or join an online organization
that puts people in touch with each other.
Some people comfort eat as a reward for a hard day’s work or for anything
else they have done.
If this sounds familiar try choosing a different reward such as a long
hot bath or a trip to the cinema.
Other common reasons for comfort eating include grief, anger, frustration
and low self- esteem.
If you can deal with the underlying reasons for comfort eating you will
be able to start losing weight with no trouble at all.
